Practice Concentration & Experience

Brian Walker focuses his practice on the procurement and management of intellectual property, with an emphasis on the preparation and prosecution of patent applications in electrical and software-related technologies. He also has experience with obtaining trademark and copyright protection, infringement and validity analysis and patent and trademark licensing.

Special areas of experience: telecommunications and E-commerce as well as computer systems, software and business methods.

Other Professional Experience

Prior to joining Howison & Arnott, Mr. Walker was in private practice as a partner with a major Texas law firm in the Intellectual Property section. In this capacity, he secured domestic and international patent coverage for several Fortune 500 clients in the telecommunications, semiconductor, E-commerce, computer and software industries. He also counseled companies in the development, protection and exploitation of intellectual property assets.

Education

Mr. Walker graduated from Texas Tech University, School of Law, Lubbock, TX (J.D., 1991) and Texas A&M University, College Station, TX (BSEE: Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, 1988).

Mr. Walker is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office and is admitted to the State Bar of Texas (1991).
